From River Street to Eastern Wharf and Tybee Island, here are the best places to watch Savannah’s Fourth of July fireworks in 2026.
If you’re planning to celebrate the 4th in Savannah this year, you’ll have no shortage of places to watch the fireworks. As the nation marks its 250th birthday, several riverfront venues are hosting concerts, parties, and family friendly celebrations leading up to the city’s annual fireworks show.
The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, with the display launched from a barge in the Savannah River and synchronized to patriotic music. Here are some of the best places to catch the show.
The city’s official Fourth of July celebration returns to River Street with an evening of free entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. Highlights include a Most Patriotic Outfit Contest, performances by the 3rd Infantry Division Brass Band and Rock Band, and plenty of waterfront restaurants and shops to enjoy before the fireworks begin.
If you’re looking for a little more room to spread out, Eastern Wharf is once again hosting one of Savannah’s most popular free celebrations. The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra will perform from 6-10 p.m., kicking things off with a New Orleans style second line parade through the park. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and small coolers, while a lineup of local food trucks and beverage vendors will be on site throughout the evening.
One of the newest viewing options this year is the Savannah Convention Center’s free Riverfront Celebration. The event runs from 4-10 p.m. and includes live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, a full service bar, and front row views of the fireworks across the river. Admission is free, while on site parking is available for $25 per vehicle.
For those looking to celebrate in style, Plant Riverside District is hosting several rooftop experiences overlooking the river. Myrtle & Rose and Electric Moon will each offer ticketed Fourth of July events featuring food, drinks, and premium views of the fireworks display. The district itself will also feature live music throughout the evening.
If you’d rather spend the holiday at the beach, Tybee Island’s annual fireworks show returns to the Pier & Pavilion. Fireworks begin around 9:15-9:30 p.m. and can be viewed from nearly anywhere along Tybee’s eastern beaches. As always, expect heavy traffic both heading onto and leaving the island.
No matter where you choose to celebrate, plan to arrive early. With Savannah celebrating America’s 250th Independence Day, large crowds and significant traffic are expected across downtown, Hutchinson Island, and Tybee throughout the evening.
