Your guide to New Year’s Eve in Savannah, including parties, rooftop events, and the midnight fireworks show.
New Year’s Eve in Savannah is always a full house affair. Whether you’re downtown, along the river, or on a rooftop, expect big crowds, long lines, and a lot of energy. If you’re trying to lock in your plans early, here are some of the top spots hosting celebrations around the city this year.
Savannah’s Waterfront will once again be the center of the action on December 31. Restaurants, hotels, and bars along River Street and Plant Riverside will host their own themed parties, live music, and special menus throughout the night. As midnight approaches, the riverfront fills up for a 10 minute fireworks show launched from a barge on the Savannah River. It’s one of the busiest nights of the year downtown, so if you want a good viewing spot, plan to arrive early.
If you’re looking for something a little more structured than wandering the riverfront crowds, here are some standout options for ringing in 2026.
Bar Julian: Y2K New Year’s Eve Party
Bar Julian is going full throwback this year with a Y2K-inspired party “25 Years Later.” Doors open at 9 PM. Expect a DJ playing hits from the 80s to the 2000s, themed drinks, and a big midnight countdown with skyline views.
General admission is $50, and VIP tables for up to four people are $600. Ticket holders need to arrive before 10 PM for guaranteed entry. The party runs until 1 AM and is 21 and up.
Peregrin Rooftop
Peregrin is always one of the most popular New Year’s Eve spots, and this year will be no different. They’ll have live music, cocktails, and one of the best vantage points in the city for fireworks. There’s a $15 cover starting at 10 PM, which includes a midnight toast. They will be open until 1 AM. Fireside packages are already sold out.
Myrtle & Rose: Night of Stars
This Old Hollywood-themed event at Myrtle & Rose has a little bit of everything: open bar, specialty cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, carving and pasta stations, a seafood display, a beignet station, rooftop fireworks views, and DJ Cesar.
Tickets are $225 per person. This is one of the more premium New Year’s events happening on the riverfront.
Wexford Irish Pub
For something more laid back, Wexford is celebrating twice: once at 7 PM for the Irish New Year and again at midnight for Savannah’s. It’s free to attend, with live music and a festive pub atmosphere. Good option if you want to avoid the high ticket parties but still celebrate.
Lavender Rooftop
Located on top of the AC Hotel, Lavender Rooftop is hosting a $25 rooftop party with DJ Precisa and a champagne toast at midnight. More relaxed than the larger riverfront celebrations, but still with great views and a fun crowd.
A Few Tips for Navigating the Night
Downtown will be extremely busy. Parking will be scarce, and ride shares will surge. If you’re planning to see the fireworks from the waterfront, give yourself plenty of time to get settled. Most restaurants and bars will be operating at high capacity, so reservations or tickets are your best bet if you don’t want to wing it.
Whether you’re heading to a rooftop, sticking to a neighborhood bar, or joining the crowd on River Street, New Year’s Eve in Savannah always brings out a mix of locals and visitors and gives the city a really fun, lively feel to close out the year.
