Country star Megan Moroney is returning to her birthplace next week with two back-to-back shows at Enmarket Arena on May 29 and 30. While she grew up in Douglasville, Georgia, Moroney was born in Savannah.
Moroney has quickly become one of the biggest rising voices in country music. Her breakout moment came in 2022 with the release of her EP Pistol Made of Roses and the viral success of her single “Tennessee Orange.” The track exploded on streaming platforms and even earned her a performance spot on ESPN’s College GameDay.
Before all that, she was just a student at the University of Georgia, majoring in accounting and singing in her sorority house. A chance to open for a country artist during her freshman year sparked her interest in songwriting—and that’s when things took off. After college, she moved to Nashville in 2020, where she worked with Kristian Bush of Sugarland, who produced her early tracks and helped connect her with other writers.
Known for her distinctive voice and sharp, honest lyrics, Moroney blends traditional country with southern storytelling and a modern sound. If you don’t know her yet, now’s a good time to catch up—and catch a show.
