Study landscape painting techniques and create oil painting studies in a six session Telfair Museums course.
Telfair Museums offers Traditions in Landscape Painting on Tuesdays, November 10 through December 15, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jepson Center, 207 West York Street.
Classes meet November 10, 17 and 24 and December 1, 8 and 15. The course welcomes beginning through advanced students. Participants work in oil paint, studying techniques and mark making by artists ranging from early English and French outdoor painters to contemporary artists.
Students transfer images from photographs and make studies to explore an artist’s process. Each class examines an artist or style, with discussion of related techniques and approaches. All materials are included.
The six class course costs $175 for members and $195 for nonmembers. Registration is required through Telfair Museums.
