Historic Savannah Foundation welcomes Elizabeth DuBose, executive director of the Ossabaw Island Foundation, for a lecture on the rehabilitation of the Torrey-West House on Ossabaw Island. Built between 1924 and 1926, the 20,000-square-foot home is celebrating its centennial. The presentation covers the challenges of preserving a historic residence on a barrier island accessible only by boat and the partnership between the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Ossabaw Island Foundation.
The lecture takes place at the Murray C. Perlman and Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center, 323 E. Broughton Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a wine reception, and the lecture begins at 6 p.m. Admission is free for HSF members and $15 for nonmembers. Space is limited, and advance reservations are available.
