Explore the aquarium and marine science exhibits at a free indoor campus open house.
Skidaway Marine Science Day took place Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the UGA Skidaway Marine Science campus at 30 Ocean Science Circle. Because of an inclement weather forecast, the organizer moved the event indoors while retaining the date and hours.
The free campus open house was presented by UGA Marine Extension and Georgia Sea Grant, UGA Skidaway Institute of Oceanography and Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. The updated program included free aquarium admission, a hands on reptile exhibit, behind the scenes aquarium visits, lab demonstrations and shellfish research activities about sustainable aquaculture and oyster restoration.
Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary, coastal researchers and environmental organizations offered educational exhibits and activities. Food was available for purchase.
