Discover “Old Chan Magic: Chinese Roots, Southern Branches,” a captivating exhibit exploring the intersection of Chinese heritage and Southern identity in early 20th-century Savannah. Curated by Davenport House Museum, the exhibit showcases rare photographs and stories of the Chan family, one of Savannah’s first Chinese immigrant families, who lived in the iconic Davenport House during its time as a tenement. The exhibit runs from January 16 through May 3, 2025, and is open Monday through Saturday (excluding March 17) from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Join the free opening reception on January 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Murray C. Perlman and Wayne C. Spear Preservation Center, featuring oral history recordings by the City of Savannah Municipal Archives.
