Families walk a forest trail with animal characters, treats, crafts and face painting at Oatland Island.
Oatland Island Wildlife Center hosts its Halloween Hike on Friday, October 16 and Saturday, October 17 at 711 Sandtown Road. Families walk through the forest to meet costumed animal characters and collect treats. Face painting, crafts and concessions are also available.
Tickets are required in advance and cost $12 per child and $10 per adult. The 5 to 6 p.m. arrival window is sold out on both nights. The official page lists 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 7:45 p.m. arrival windows. A reservation sets the arrival window rather than the exact hike departure. The last group leaves at 8 p.m., so guests must arrive by 7:45 p.m.
Tickets cannot be refunded or transferred to another day or arrival window. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. The hike takes place outdoors, so bring bug spray and wear comfortable walking shoes. Costumes are encouraged, and restrooms are available in the main building.
