Asbury Memorial pairs Broadway songs and themes with Sunday worship during its free October series.
Asbury Memorial Church presents God on Broadway, its October worship series combining sermons, liturgy and music from Broadway productions. Services begin at 11 a.m. at 1008 East Henry Street in Savannah and are free and open to the public.
The remaining 2026 services feature The Sound of Music on Sunday, October 18 and A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical on Sunday, October 25. The series began with Waitress on October 4 and Guys and Dolls on October 11.
The Asbury Choir performs under the direction of minister of music Ray Ellis. Senior pastor Rev. Billy Hester connects the shows’ themes with the scripture selected for each service.
