A new pickleball and entertainment destination is getting ready to open in Thunderbolt. The Thunderbolt Dink Dome is targeting an October opening at 3109 East Victory Drive, combining pickleball courts with dining, drinks, coffee and a pro shop under one concept.

The centerpiece will be five covered outdoor pickleball courts designed for play in a variety of weather conditions. The courts will feature fans, heaters and lighting, including black lights for special events, and are expected to be available daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

But the Dink Dome is being built as more than just a place to play pickleball. Dinky's Kitchen will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, while Rally Roast Coffee Co. will offer coffee, smoothies and fresh baked goods beginning at 7 a.m. Courtside Lounge will provide a full bar, and an on site Pro Shop will carry pickleball equipment and even local Thunderbolt merchandise.

The facility will be open to the public, and plans also call for classes, events and kid friendly activities. The team says a schedule of upcoming events will be released as the opening gets closer.

The Dink Dome is also partnering with The RePickle Project to collect used, broken and unwanted pickleballs for recycling once the facility opens.

Construction is continuing along Victory Drive, with the project now moving closer to completion. More details, including menus, events and an exact opening date, are expected ahead of the planned October debut.
