After a few years of operating as a mobile setup, Slow Fire BBQ is moving toward a permanent home in Savannah.
The Texas style barbecue concept, led by pitmaster Terrance Williams, has built a following since launching in 2023, primarily serving out of a converted school bus. While the truck has appeared at various locations over time, including a stretch along Waters Avenue, securing a long term space has been an ongoing goal.
Now, that search appears to be over. Slow Fire BBQ is planning to move into the former Baby’s space at the corner of 37th and Habersham, an old gas station building that has seen a few recent transitions. Plans for the site include a full kitchen along with a dedicated pit room, with construction expected to take several months.
In the meantime, the food truck will continue operating, now shifting its regular pop-ups to the new location. Moving forward, customers can expect the truck to be set up there Thursday through Saturday, offering a more consistent place to find it compared to past rotations.
The move marks a step forward for the business, transitioning from a mobile only setup to a brick-and-mortar presence while still maintaining its current service during the buildout. For regular customers, it also means a more reliable location without needing to track changing schedules.
While a full opening timeline for the permanent space has not been finalized, the shift to 37th and Habersham gives Slow Fire BBQ a clear next phase as it continues to grow locally.
