Savannah’s Candy Kitchen Opens a Third Downtown Store on West River Street

Savannah’s Candy Kitchen has added a West End store on River Street, joining its longtime East River Street and City Market locations downtown.

Savannah’s Candy Kitchen has added another stop on River Street. The longtime candy maker celebrated the grand opening of its new West End store on October 28, bringing its third downtown Savannah location to 427 W. River Street.

The shop began welcoming customers during a soft opening on October 3. It sits beside Wine Bar on the River and The Rhett, adding a location on the western end of the waterfront while the company’s East River Street and City Market shops remain in place.

Inside, the store carries the candies that have made the family business a familiar part of downtown, including pralines, pecan pies and saltwater taffy. The business now spans three generations of candy makers.

The expansion adds to the existing shop at 225 E. River Street and the City Market location at 318 W. St. Julian Street. The West End grand opening included a ribbon cutting with the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce.

The company lists West End hours as 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Another Savannah’s Candy Kitchen location is still to come. A separate store at 300 W. River Street in the Plant Riverside District is listed as coming soon, with no opening date posted.
