One of Savannah’s longest-running cultural celebrations is returning this fall as the Savannah Greek Festival marks its 75th year.
The festival will take place October 8 through 10 at the Hellenic Center at 14 West Anderson Street, with festivities running from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Admission will be free throughout the three-day event.
As always, Greek food will be a major part of the festival, with favorites including pastitsio, spanakopita, dolmades and souvlaki, along with plenty of traditional pastries like baklava and koulourakia. This year’s menu will also feature a few additions for the 75th anniversary, including baklava cheesecake and an expanded selection of Greek wines.
Beyond the food, the festival will feature live music, traditional Greek dancing, church tours and a marketplace with imported Greek products including oils, cheeses and other goods.
For anyone who wants the food without staying for the full festival, preorder lunch pickup will also be available each day, along with dinner pickup on Thursday.
The Savannah Greek Festival has grown into an annual tradition over its 75-year history, bringing generations of locals together to celebrate Greek food and culture. This year’s milestone celebration runs Thursday through Saturday, October 8 through 10, with free admission all three days.
