Livingood’s is celebrating a major expansion in Pooler with the grand opening of its new 138,000-square-foot headquarters and showroom at 1326 East Highway 80. The family-owned appliance and bedding business will hold its ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 22.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the ribbon cutting scheduled for 11:15 a.m. It comes as the company marks 50 years in business, following its start in Savannah in 1976.
The new facility brings Livingood’s corporate offices, distribution warehouse and largest showroom together in one building. The 138,000-square-foot figure covers the combined facility, not just the shopping floor.
The expansion also adds plumbing fixtures to a business long associated with kitchen and laundry appliances and mattresses. The new line includes faucets and other fixtures for kitchens and bathrooms.
Plans for the showroom included kitchen displays and a larger mattress gallery. The warehouse expansion was designed to hold more inventory, with additional space for the company’s service and delivery operations.
Phyllis and Dale Livingood founded the company in Savannah. It has since grown to include stores in Savannah, Pooler and Okatie, South Carolina.
Regular hours at the Pooler showroom are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The store is closed on Sundays.
