Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen are coming to Savannah for this year’s SCAD Savannah Film Festival. The newly announced guest lineup also includes Jessica Lange, Ethan Hawke, Gemma Chan and Carrie Coon, joining Helen Mirren and Julianne Moore for the eight-day festival running October 24 through 31.
Reeves will receive the Legend of Cinema Award at a screening of The Matrix on Friday, October 30, at 6 p.m. at Lucas Theatre for the Arts. A conversation with the actor will follow the screening, giving fans a chance to hear from him after seeing the film back on the big screen.
Earlier that day, Reeves will take part in The World of BRZRKR at 2 p.m. at Trustees Theater. He will join writer Matt Kindt and illustrator Ron Garney to discuss the comic book series they created together.
Rogen will receive the Spotlight Award at a screening of The Invite on Tuesday, October 27, at 4:30 p.m. at Lucas Theatre. Directed by Olivia Wilde, the comedy stars Rogen alongside Wilde, Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton. A conversation with Rogen will follow the film.
Lange will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday, October 25, at Trustees Theater. Her film Long Day’s Journey into Night screens at 3:45 p.m., followed by a conversation with the actress.
Other guests include Paul Bettany, John Cho, Emmy Rossum and Billie Piper. The lineup spans film and television, with screenings and discussions taking place throughout the week.
Opening night on October 24 will feature Mirren and A Talent for Murder, followed by a moderated question-and-answer session. Mirren will receive the Legend of Entertainment Award, while Moore will receive the Icon Award during the festival.
Individual event tickets are now on sale, and the festival is open to the public. Standard daytime tickets for events before 5 p.m. are $10, or $7 for seniors 65 and older, military members and students. Standard evening screenings at Trustees Theater and Lucas Theatre are $17, with $12 tickets for seniors, military members, students and SCAD cardholders. Some events have different pricing.
