Forsyth Park’s tennis courts are back open after a summer renovation that replaced the worn courts, fencing and other site amenities.
Work began in June and was completed September 25. The project included new asphalt pavement and tennis-specific surfacing, giving the community courts a more substantial rebuild than a routine resurfacing.
The courts are open seven days a week from dawn until 9 p.m. Lights are available from 6 to 9 p.m., allowing play to continue into the evening as the days get shorter.
Reservations can be made through Bacon Park Tennis Center at 912-351-3850.
Edwards Construction Group handled the work under a contract capped at $363,081. Funding came through Savannah’s fiscal 2026 Capital Improvement Program as part of its Recreation Reimagined initiative.
The city scheduled construction during the summer to reduce disruption to regular tennis programming. With the work complete, the courts are available again for residents and visitors heading to Forsyth Park for a match.
