Crystal Beer Parlor is preparing to reopen just days after an early morning fire temporarily shut down the historic downtown restaurant.
The fire broke out around 2:45 a.m. Friday, when Savannah Fire crews arrived to find flames and heavy smoke coming from an exterior walk-in cooler behind the building. Firefighters quickly got it under control, and importantly, the flames never reached the main structure — a key factor that allowed the restaurant to move toward reopening much sooner than many expected.
At the time, Crystal Beer Parlor announced it would be closed until further notice while crews handled cleanup, repairs, and inspections.
Now, the restaurant has shared an update: Crystal Beer Parlor will reopen Tuesday, November 25 at 11 a.m.
In a message to customers, the team said they were “overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support” over the last few days. They also thanked the Savannah Fire Department, the Department of Public Health, and ServiceMaster of Savannah for helping them get back up and running so quickly.
One of Savannah’s oldest and most beloved spots is almost ready to welcome everyone back — just in time for the holiday week.
